Refer to figure.
Note: For this question do NOT interpolate, Choose the most conservative figures at ALL times.
The annex shows a regulated take-off mass (RTOM) table for runway 23L from take-off position VB. In each RTOM chart box, the following information is provided for a given wind component / outside air temperature combination: MTOM / limitation code / V1/VR/V2 (+100 kt). Given the following information, determine the RTOM for departure.
W/V: 230°/15 kt
OAT: +10°C
QNH: 1028 hPa
Runway: DRY
Engine anti-ice: OFF
Packs: OFF
Quick line-up
Refer to figure.
Considering this graph, first, the wind direction 230° is exactly opposite to the runway 23L, so the wind speed of 15 kt is a headwind. The questions asks to take the most conservative data and not interpolate, so, enter the RTOW table from the "10 kt" column. Then given the outside air temperature of +10°C, we have to choose the most limiting RTOM from 79.7 and 79.0 Tonnes, which will be 79.0 Tonnes (79 000 kg), and therefore mean that we are in the box which uses V1 = 150 kt, VR = 150 kt, V2 = 155 kt.
We then have to take any extra factors into account; in this case, no correction is required.
Therefore, the correct answer is 79 000 kg.
