Helicopter Flight Manual (HFM) or Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM) is a manual, associated with the Certificate of Airworthiness, containing limitations within which the aircraft is considered to be airworthy, and instructions and information necessary to the flight crew for the safe operation of the aircraft.

A typical HFM is dived into the following sections:

  • General (basic descriptive information on airframe and powerplant).
  • Limitations (instrument markings, operating and CG limitations).
  • Emergency Procedures (emergency and malfunction checklist).
  • Normal Procedures (pre-flight, start-up and normal flight operations).
  • Performance (charts to derive helicopter performance).
  • Weight and Balance (information required to calculate the weight and balance).
  • System Description (describes the helicopter in a manner most likely to be operated by the pilot).
  • Handling & Maintenance (maintenance and inspections recommended by the manufacturer or regulations).

The "Fuel Flow Chart" of a certain Helicopter is laid down in the Performance section of the Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
